After watching a documentary, I have suddenly become very interested in the topic of DNA testing! Have any of you done a DNA test before? If so, would you mind sharing your personal stories and experiences? I would love to hear more first-hand stories about how the process works, as well as any interesting discoveries that you may have found in the results!

I’m a bit of a secret geek, so DNA is a fascinating subject to me and I’ve read up a lot about it in my spare time! For me, I got interested in the subject after watching an episode of CSI lol. I am sure you know that in the field of forensics, it is used to catch criminals or rule someone out as a suspect, so that’s what piqued my interest.

Anyway, I did a DNA test several years ago. My girlfriend at the time said she was pregnant. I had actually suspected her of having an affair for quite some time. I never actually had any evidence. However, I did not confront her about it either. When she told me she was pregnant, I began having doubts as to whether it was mine or not. To cut a long story short, it turned out that the baby was not mine. Once I found out, I told her it was over. Why would anyone want to be in a relationship with someone like that?

I walked away and never looked back. I am so glad I did. I am now married to a wonderful woman and we have a beautiful child of our own.

WOW. Quite a story there, worthy of a talk show segment if you don’t mind me saying. So sorry to hear about the troubles but at least it all worked out for you in the end. Thank you for sharing that.

Money and greed make people do anything. Sometimes, a DNA test can prove if someone has a right to an inheritance. Sometimes, an illegitimate child may be born to someone famous. When the celebrity dies, their estate is left to the next of kin.

Let’s say the celebrity had 2 children. They will get everything, assuming the will states this. Now, out of the blue, the illegitimate child shows up and wants a piece of it. Anyone can claim they are the illegitimate child of the celebrity. However, a DNA test can conclusively prove it. So now, at least this other child can have something. Impostors will not be able to get away with it.

Ah yes, I see what you mean. Yeah, too many con artists around when it comes to money.

Sometimes, a child may be given up for adoption. Years later, they find out that they have siblings. The search may be instigated by any of the parties involved. It can truly change lives. Are you interested in having a DNA test yourself?

Actually, yes, I am. I’m more into finding out about my ancestors. Can you suggest a place I could take a test?

Sure, I contacted CRI Genetics and ordered a kit. It comes with instructions, so just follow it. There’s nothing to worry about. It is really simple.

Yes, I think I will definitely look into it. Thank you both for your feedback and for sharing things with me.
